Partner Spotlight: Renegade Paws Rescue
One of our new partners for 2026 is Renegade Paws Rescue — a truly badass organization founded in Savannah, Georgia in 2019 by Jennifer Taylor and her fellow “rebels for the paws.” We first fell in love with them for their hilarious, voicey social media presence that celebrates the animals in their care, and then were blown away as we learned more about the committed, extensive work they do in their community.
At any given time, they have hundreds of rescue dogs in their care, some in their facility and most in their amazingly robust foster program. Georgia ranks #5 in the country for most animals euthanized in shelters, and Renegade understands that we can’t rescue our way out of this crisis. So they are also committed to keeping pets with their people to begin with, through community medical clinics, food pantries, microchipping, spay/neuter, and generally working with community members to address any challenges they face to keeping their pets.
That’s where our Hansel Help grant came in this year. We’re thrilled that our funding went to support two of their community clinics over the summer, to help hundreds of pets and families access essential care.
First up, a chip and vaccine clinic in Bryan County in May that served 68 pets — 59 dogs (approx. 20% dogs that look like pit bulls) and 9 cats. The team administered 55 microchips and 43 rabies vaccinations. Read more and see pics above!
Jennifer shared:
“The energy at the clinic was fantastic. We actually processed 23 animals in just the first hour! Most of the attendees came from Richmond Hill, but we also saw families from Savannah, Ellabell, and Pembroke.
We are so grateful for your partnership. This funding is directly helping us keep these ‘pittie babies’ safely identified, legally vaccinated, and most importantly in their homes and out of the shelter system.”
And most recently, our funding helped Renegade host a HUGE community clinic, one of the biggest they’d ever had, in collaboration with other amazing donors and volunteers. Pics above!

“On September 13, we partnered with the Society of Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care while they were in Savannah for their conference. Veterinary professionals volunteered their time, and by combining that incredible donated support with funding from Hansel and PetSmart Charities, we were able to provide care to 423 pets in one afternoon!
The majority were dogs, but we also saw plenty of cats. It was busy, a little chaotic, and exactly the kind of community work we love doing.
This was more than a vaccine clinic. It was a true wellness clinic where pets received preventative care, heartworm testing, and basic medical care for issues the veterinary team identified that day. Just as importantly, the clinic didn't end when everyone packed up. For families whose pets needed additional care but who could not afford it, we are helping with follow-up medical care, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.
That follow-up piece is really important to us. Finding a problem doesn't help much if we send someone home knowing their pet needs care they still can't access. Funding like yours gives us the ability to help bridge that gap.
We also continued our focus on pittie-type dogs and their families. In addition to veterinary care, we had take-home resources for pittie owners, including information related to breed-specific legislation and resources to help families advocate for and keep their dogs.
One of the things we are especially proud of is how we’ve been able to stretch funding by bringing different partners together. Hansel’s support didn’t have to carry the entire cost of the clinic. We combined it with PetSmart funding, donated veterinary expertise, volunteers, and community partnerships to reach far more families than we could have on our own.
Thank you again for trusting us with this funding and giving us the flexibility to take it out into the community where it can do the most good. 423 pets receiving care in a single afternoon is something we absolutely could not do alone, and Hansel was part of making that happen.
And we’re not done yet! We are planning another large community clinic at Enmarket Arena in November, and we’ll continue following the pets from this clinic who need additional care.”
We are as passionate about prevention as we are about pitties. We are so excited to have made new friends in Renegade Paws who share that passion, and couldn’t be happier with the incredible work they’ve done with their grant.
