Slick
In early March, we received an application from brand new West Coast-based rescue Compassionate Canine Society, who were looking to save some dogs from the city shelter in Roswell, New Mexico. The Roswell shelter was experiencing a distemper outbreak and had recently begun enforcing a policy that all dogs would be euthanized after 14 days if they remained unclaimed. We wanted to help Compassionate Canine save lives last minute, and they did. One of the four pups they pulled was 1-year-old Slick, who had come to the shelter already neutered and with an inactive microchip. Slick is a beautiful boy who loves playing with other dogs and is described by the rescue as an “old soul.” He played the role of loving big brother to the puppies he was rescued with!
