We love working with Chicago’s One Tail At A Time not just because they rescued Hansel in 2018, but because they are a kind, inclusive, conscientious, and all-around-badass rescue! On June 27 and 28, 2026, we collaborated on The Blockhead Block Party, aka a discounted adoption fee event focused on dogs that look like pitties. With our grant, adult dog adoption fees went from $300 to $50 and puppy fees from $350 to $150 for the weekend.

Shortcake has a special place in our hearts because she was handled at the event by Hansel’s mom Crystal — until she found her perfect forever family, that is!!! She’s such a playful sweetie who loves dog friends.
