Positive Tails

We’re so proud to be one of the sponsors of Positive Tails’ second annual Spay & Neuter-A-Thon! Last year, the event provided free spay and neuter surgeries to over 300 animals across NYC in November at participating vet clinics all over the city. Their goal is to surpass that in November and December this year!

Our sponsorship covers care (the events also offer basic vaccines and microchips for the pets getting fixed) for 15 animals during the event. Our executive director was on site to help out with Worth Street Vet’s event, which saw seven dogs (including four bully breeds!) and six cats come to get fixed. Yup, this event means we’re getting our first kitty Hansel Help recipients. Though we’re an organization focused on pit bull-type dogs, we believe that one of the most important pieces of the animal welfare puzzle is low-cost spay and neuter. Fewer pets born means reducing the overpopulation crisis and fewer pets in shelters, meaning fewer euthanasias. As an organization representing the dog breeds most commonly found and euthanized in US shelters, making spay and neuter accessible for families absolutely has to be a priority.

Positive Tails does incredible work to keep pets with their families in NYC. In addition to their spay/neuter program, they also host regular wellness clinics and provide financial aid for emergency vet care.
