Otis

A kind friend of a friend of ours found scared Otis stray and brought him to Queens ACC. During the night he spent with his finder, he was an incredibly sweet and good boy. At the shelter, his behavior deteriorated due to fear, and he soon faced a euthanasia deadline. It’s a heartbreakingly common story and one we are particularly focused on at The Hansel Foundation — dogs are so often overlooked, labeled as difficult, and even euthanized because of their behavior in a loud, unfamiliar, scary shelter, when that is not at all what their personality would be in a home. Our goal is to make sure they get the chance to prove that and live a whole new life! We helped spread the word about Otis when NJ-based See Spot Rescued wanted to save his life, but needed a foster. We are so grateful someone stepped up, and that Otis is now safe and we were able to honor a small pledge for his care!
