Sweet, volunteer favorite Maddie is a lovable 5-year-old pup who ended up at the Prince George’s County shelter after the loss of her beloved owner. Furever Home Rescue — a new organization focused on saving dogs in PG County, where there is a ban on dogs labeled “pit bulls” and they cannot be adopted from the shelter by county residents — wanted to make sure her story didn’t end there. Thankfully, a foster stepped up for her and we were able to honor our $1,000 pledge to help care for a sore on her leg that will need follow-up. Maddie’s smile is magical, and we can’t wait to see more of it!
