Hansel
This guy caught our attention for obvious reasons, but it’s not just his name that makes him special. SEAACA shelter volunteer @sailorrrsarah writes: “Hansel arrived at SEAACA emaciated — a fully grown pit bull weighing only 38 pounds. He and his companion Gretel were found starved, bleeding, and covered in sores…Hansel was terrified upon intake, can you blame him? He calmed, allowed staff to leash him, and even accepted his vaccinations. Despite the trauma. Despite the pain. Despite the hunger.”
We honored a small pledge for beautiful Hansel who was saved at the last minute by Orange County-based rescue Doggie Bonez ! They also rescued his shelter sister Gretel, now Gigi. (Our eponymous Hansel also had a sister Gretel who was adopted before him 🥹.)
The rescue URGENTLY needs a SoCal foster — ideally in OC or SD but LA also works — for for Hansel where he can be the only pet and decompress. Reach out to them ASAP if you can help!
