We love working with Chicago’s One Tail At A Time not just because they rescued Hansel in 2018, but because they are a kind, inclusive, conscientious, and all-around-badass rescue! On June 27 and 28, 2026, we collaborated on The Blockhead Block Party, aka a discounted adoption fee event focused on dogs that look like pitties. With our grant, adult dog adoption fees went from $300 to $50 and puppy fees from $350 to $150 for the weekend.

Gyoza was everyone’s BFF at the event, cuddling and getting her belly rubbed by as many people as possible. Like her friend Samosa, she went from Chicago Animal Care and Control (and a spay surgery on Thursday) to One Tail foster home to FOREVER in less than a week!
