Eleanor Rigby

No more lonely people when this sweet 10-month-old girl with the giant ears is around!!! Eleanor Rigby was a volunteer favorite at BARC in Houston, and volunteers literally saved her young life, blocking staff from taking her to the euthanasia room until she was saved by Pippy’s Pals. She’s absolutely a survivor; she was also hit by a car, and we’re honored that some of our Hansel Help grant to Pippy’s will be used for her medical care, including treatment for bruises and road rash. Yet another miracle, recent X-rays she had no broken bones! She will need some rest and to be spayed before she’s ready for adoption, but she’s a fabulous girl with her whole life ahead of her. She has done well with kids and has made fast friends with canine foster brothers, including fellow Hansel Help recipient Tahoe!

The reality of the shelter crisis is that wonderful dogs and puppies like Eleanor, who would thrive in a family home, are euthanized every day due to lack of space. Adopting, fostering, and providing accessible vet care (including spay/neuter), training, and pet guardian education are crucial to saving lives like hers.
