Chip
*** Update: after we made our grant for Chip, a generous donor stepped up and sponsored his full surgery, so the rescue was actually able to use our donation for the medical costs and care of other pups! A win win! ***
Meet good and brave boy Chip, who was saved almost a year ago from the Sanger shelter in California by California Bully Rescue. He's a 2-year-old pup who'd originally been adopted from the Bakersfield shelter, but some time between then and ending up at the Sanger shelter, he was hit by a car. The rescue describes him as "an overlooked gem" who loves people, other dogs, and car rides, and he's a smart guy who's done great with his training.
He is thriving in his foster home despite dealing with a left front leg that healed incorrectly after he was hit by a car. To live his best and most comfortable life, vets recommend it be amputated. The rescue is currently fundraising for his surgery and has paused intake until they are able to fund surgeries for Chip and two other pups.
We are thrilled to be able to ~chip~ in $1,000, an easy yes to us thanks to all the proceeds we've received from Cloud Haven recently. Chip and California Bully Rescue still need more support, so please consider donating to them if you are able. 🙏
