Charlie

Beautiful Charlie has stolen many hearts and was recently saved by our incredible friends at Red Hook Dog Rescue! He was found tied to a pole, then spent two months at the Queens ACC shelter before being added to the euthanasia list after a behavior incident. He’s a prime example of what happens to so many great dogs when they spend a long time in the scary shelter — they understandably start behaving differently due to anxiety and stress than they would in a loving home. We are so relieved his story didn’t end there, thanks to Red Hook’s amazing and compassionate Harriet, who is very familiar with such situations. We sent a donation to help cover Charlie’s training costs. He's been decompressing well but urgently needs a new foster! Please contact Red Hook Dog Rescue if you can give him a loving place to stay.

Here's what they have to say about him: "Charlie is great with people! He’s house trained and comfortable in a crate. So far he’s been uncomfortable with dogs, but not reactive when passing them! It’s still early so we are taking it slow with other dogs, but he’s got a lovely demeanor."
