Update: THRILLED to share that Achilles’s family missed him as much as he missed them and was able to reconnect. His dad reached out to Border Tails to reclaim him when he could and the rescue made it happen! Achilles missed his person so much and ended up back where he belongs 💕. Achilles has a chance to heal ❤️‍🩹
Like many others, our hearts were both captured and broken when we saw @chicagoshelterdogs post about Achilles, and how sad he was in the shelter, missing his family. He was a loved pet whose guardian had to be hospitalized, a common and heartbreaking reason animals end up in shelters. Thankfully, the incredibly hardworking Border Tails Rescue got him out of Chicago Animal Care And Control last week! He will need expensive dental work, and we honored a small pledge for him. Our friends The Rosenthal Family Foundation are helping support him as well. Achilles is a young guy, just under 2, and we know he can find a family who loves him again, just like he so deserves.
